People like to party, but no one likes to throw a party and for you its an opportunity to make money. Here are four ways you can make money with an event or party.

Event Coordinator

Event Coordinators are a valuable resource to anyone having a party, corporate event, fundraiser or wedding. Event Coordinators assist with planning a social event. Planning includes setting up the event budget, renting the needed accessories, hiring a caterer, a bartender if needed and lining up the entertainment. As an event coordinator you set the schedule for how the events unfold.

Caterer

As the Caterer you are helping your customer choose the food that fits the theme, atmosphere, and ambiance of the event while staying within the budget. Some caterers charge by the plate and others a lump sum based on the anticipated crowd. Depending on the event glassware and plates may need to be rented. Events may include corporate lunches, weddings, formals and fundraisers. Remember to work with the client to develop a menu and set a budget. Stay within your culinary talents and price the menu to cover food cost and your labor.

Private Event Bartender

Private Event Bartenders have roll like no other. You are the one interacting with the guests. Making their favorite drinks, but remember that before all this happens you must interact with the client and set a budget and go over the ground rules. For example open bar or cash bar. How many people? Top shelf liquor or bottom shelf. Any garnishing? Are you providing the alcohol or is the customer? And of course when is last call? Sitting down with your client to develop a simple beverage menu can reduce waste, increase profits, and reduce the line at the bar. All this will keep the crowd happy and the party going.

DJ & KJ

It used to be either a Kareoke Jockey or Discount Jockey, but now days you can do both. Just like a Caterer or Bartender, sit down with the client and develop a genre or playlist. Have a song book for the guests to choose from for karaoke. Finally put out tip jar for song request. Your job here is to keep the crowd entertained and engaged. While doing this you are the communication between the host and guests. Be upbeat, professional , and enthused.
